SANDBLASTING  &  GLASS CARVING

* Sandblasting and Glass Carving is done on site at our facility and the sky's the limit. Both, sandblasting and glass carving provide that extra-special finishing touch to any glass or mirror application (both residential and commercial clients). Whether it be a business logo, a favorite wallpaper pattern, or a highly detailed carving, we can help you design a truly unique effect that is guaranteed to be an instant eye-catcher.

* WHAT IS SANDBLASTING? *

- Sandblasting is the process of using compressed air to propel abrasive media at a surface to clean, debur, or to prepare a surface for a coating of some sort.  Here at Mirage Mirror & Glass, we use sandblasting in a different way.

* HOW IS SANDBLASTING DONE? *

- Etching, engraving, or carving glass refers to a technique where the glass is simply roughened to produce a translucent "white" area on the surface. This effect is produced by lightly blasting the surface with an abrasive media or using a hydrofluoric acid. The results can be a simple monotone design on the surface, or it can be a near-photographic rendering of a scene in shades of black and white.
